MARLIN AWARDS PREPARES TO CELEBRATE ITS 25TH ANNIVERSARY 

On Sunday July 3rd 2022, the Bahamian and Caribbean Gospel Music community will come together to celebrate the 25thAnniversary of the  Caribbean Gospel Music Marlin Awards at the Myles E. Munroe  Diplomat Center beginning at 6:00pm. 

The Marlin Awards which were launched on March 16th 1996 by media  executive Kevin “Minister K” Harris some twenty six years ago is now  considered the premier gospel music awards that recognizes and  honors Bahamian and Caribbean Gospel music globally. The awards  started as The Bahamian Gospel Music Marlin Awards in 1996 and in  the year 2000 eight categories we included to recognize Caribbean  Gospel artists and their music. Then in 2022, the awards were  rebranded the Caribbean Gospel Music Marlin Awards, bringing  together for the first time, artists from throughout the Bahamas and  the Caribbean.  

According to founder and President Kevin “Minister K” Harris, we are  extremely humbled by how far we have come over these many years  and how much we have grown. 

We are especially delighted to know that with the pending celebration  of our Silver Jubilee Anniversary, the Marlin Awards now stands as the  longest running gospel music award show in the Bahamas and in the  Caribbean.  

The Marlin Awards were established to recognize and honor  outstanding achievement in Bahamian and Caribbean Gospel Music and  its vision and core objective is to encourage excellence and growth in  Caribbean Gospel Music.  

A number of local and regional gospel artists are scheduled to perform  during the highly anticipated awards show on July 3rd including the two  top co-nominees this year, Joel “Positive” Murray from Trinidad &  Tobago & Kevin Downswell from Jamaica as well the two top co-group  nominees Christopher Roberts & Friends & Gateway Outreach  Ministries featuring Oslien Jadorte from the Bahamas. Also on the  shows line up is top female nominee this year, Cara T. Newton from  Freeport Grand Bahama as well as other top nominees such as Sherwin  Gardner from Trinidad & Tobago but who now resides here in the  Bahamas and Samuel Medas from Guyana. Other confirmed performers  include Harvest Generation, Alia Coley and Allison Mason Rolle. 

Several companies are serving as GOLD Sponsors including Breezes  Bahamas who is serving as the Official Resort for Marlin Awards 2022.  All international and domestic guests are booking their stay at Breezes.  Another GOLD sponsor is 101.9 Joy FM who is serving as the Official  Radio Station for Marlin Awards 2022. The Marlin Awards has had a  long standing relationship with Joy FM and the station will provide the  promotional platform for local and regional nominees including their  material. The third GOLD Sponsor is Caribbean Gospel TV or CGTV, a  television station based out of Trinidad and Tobago. CGTV will promote  and broadcast this year’s Caribbean Gospel Music Marlin Awards LIVE  on its network which currently broadcast in seven regional markets and  across the Caribbean on the Digicel TV network, Telem TV, CCore and  stream online at caribbeangospel.tv. CGTV television broadcast  currently reaches; Jamaica, Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago, Turks &  Caicos Islands, Dominica, Anguilla, Montserrat, Saint Kitts & Nevis,  Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, St Maarten. 

The SIVER Sponsor for this year’s awards is Bahamas Faith Ministries  International and the two BRONZE Sponsors include Jamaica Bahama  Imports and Bahamas Harvest Church.  

Tickets for this year’s Caribbean Gospel Music Marlin Awards start at  $25 for General admission, $30 at the door and $50 for VIP. 

Ticket can be purchased from Logos Bookstore in the Harbor Bay  Shopping Plaza, The Oasis Bookstore & Café located in the Myles  E. Munroe Diplomat Center and the Bible Book & Gift Center located in  the Palmdale Shopping Plaza.  

The Marlin Awards will serve as the final event during Marlin Weekend  of Events 2022 which will include the hosting of the Marlin Fest Concert  on Friday July 1st 2022 at Bahamas Harvest Church West Campus (JRK)  beginning at 7:00pm and the Marlin Summit Workshops on Saturday  July 2nd 2022 which will be held at Bahamas Faith Ministries beginning  at 9:00am. The Marlin Awards Silver Jubilee Awards Celebration will  close out the weekend of events on Sunday July 3rd 2022 at the Myles E.  Munroe Diplomat Center beginning at 6:00pm.  

The awards will be produced by Oracle Media Consultants, formerly  Harris Media Group.
